In 2019 I was diagnosed with celiac disease, a serious autoimmune disorder that is triggered by consuming a protein called gluten, which is found in wheat, barley and rye. The only treatment for celiac disease is to follow a strict gluten-free diet.
After my diagnosis, I searched for information to help me follow a gluten-free diet while living as normally as possible. I found sites with elaborate recipes made with unfamiliar ingredients and warnings to stay away from restaurants.
I needed suggestions for real life. I am a full-time music teacher and mom, and I don’t have hours to make dinner each evening. When I couldn’t find the right resource to help me, I created The Gluten-Free Good Life.
This site focuses on what busy people need to know like which gluten-free bread is best, how to navigate eating in restaurants, and what apps are helpful. In addition, we feature recipes that are not only quick and easy, but also family-friendly and delicious.
